crewswarm is local-first software that runs entirely on your machine. We designed it this way on purpose: your code, your prompts, and your API keys stay with you. This privacy policy explains what data we do and do not collect.
Data We Do Not Collect
crewswarm itself collects no user data. When you run crewswarm on your machine:
- Your source code never leaves your local filesystem.
- Your prompts and agent conversations are processed locally and sent only to the LLM provider you configure (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.).
- Your API keys are stored locally on your machine and are never transmitted to crewswarm servers.
- No telemetry, analytics, or usage tracking is built into the crewswarm software.
API Calls to LLM Providers
When crewswarm makes API calls to LLM providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google), those requests go directly from your machine to the provider. crewswarm does not proxy, intercept, or log these requests. Your relationship with those providers is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service.
If you configure a remote gateway, API traffic will route through that gateway. This is an opt-in feature that you control entirely.
Website Analytics
The crewswarm.ai website uses Google Analytics (measurement ID: G-0QSG6Y9DHT) to collect anonymous traffic data such as page views, referral sources, and general geographic region. This helps us understand how people find and use the documentation.
We do not set any cookies beyond what Google Analytics requires. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels.
Open Source Transparency
crewswarm is open source software. You can audit the entire codebase on GitHub to verify these claims for yourself. We believe transparency is the strongest form of trust.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and note the new effective date. For an open source project that collects no user data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
